Peel Retail Parks has reported strong growth and a record year for store openings at its 11 retail parks nationwide, as the demand for out of town retail continues to grow.
The company, which owns and manages retail parks, has revealed that in 2016 they signed 12 new stores, a total of 12,655 sq m of retail space [136,221sqft], including two flagship Next stores, an M&S Foodhall, plus a number of Iceland’s new format Food Warehouse stores.
Mark Whittaker, Group Property Director at Peel Land and Property, who own and manage Peel Retail Parks, said: “We’re continuing to see a strong demand for out of town retail, which has led to record footfall growth within our Peel Retail Parks business this year.
“Shoppers increasingly want the convenience, variety and discounts they can get at a retail park. With the right operator mix we are attracting a broader customer base, increasing dwell time and improving the overall shopping experience.
